This coilover suspension upgrade is designed to achieve a perfect balance of street comfort and increased performance. This suspension system allows you to easily adjust your ride height while improving handling performance of your car.
Our patented scaled system design allows easier and more precise adjustment and ensures equal height on each corner. Each shock is equipped with 24 levels of dampening adjustment to fine-tune the valving efficiency.
The Part : VV16-IS coilover shocks are handcrafted and assembled to your specs at SCALE facilities.
This model front Macpherson configuration comes with adjustable camber plate front top mounts to set your desired camber specs and avoid excessive tire wear. We recommend using the gravitational bearing option to reduce the effort of the camber plate.
This rear divorced spring configuration uses a linear spring. Custom spring rate or length is not a problem.
Shock has no direct impact on wheel alignment, so if you need more adjustment than what your car offers from factory, you can check if a specialized company offers adjustable control arms.
Our mono-tube shock absorber are using high-quality CNC piston valves, synthetic oil and high-pressure nitrogen gas contained within one tube.
We can always customize the spring rate and shock length to fit your exact needs on this application.

Finally got the coilovers installed. All went well as far as the installation. The fitment could have been better for the rear coil springs but not too bad.
I still continue to adjust/ dial in the adjustments on the left side front and rear coilovers as they are slightly lower than the passenger side.

Hi there - I am considering the VV16-IS coilovers for my 2016 Volvo V60 T6 Polestar (AWD). I have a few initial questions I was hoping to get answered during this research phase. Please itemize your reply when you have time, I appreciate it.
1) It appears these come with camber plates/top mounts for this application. Can you confirm that I do not need to source or install any OEM parts for the front coilovers?
2) Additionally, since the camber plates are adjustable, the screws appear to be recessed/countersunk to the mounting surface. I understand that strut tower modification would be necessary for adjustment access - but if I were to adjust them before mounting, could I do that in order to prevent modifying the towers? In other words - will these mount up without modification? I understand I would not be able to adjust once mounted - thats OK. I would like to prevent widening the holes if possible.
3) Rear Mounts - do the rear shocks come with their own mounts from SCALE or should I source OEM Volvo replacements?
4) Finally - what is the default spring rate for this application? Do you by chance know how this compares to the Polestar suspension as it is significantly more stiff than the average V60. IF this is not a simple answer, perhaps we can schedule a call to discuss further. (if appropriate)

1) Front Mounts / Camber Plates
Yes — this kit does include full front top mounts with adjustable camber plates. You will not need to reuse or source any OEM front top hats. Everything needed for the front assembly is included.
2) Strut Tower Modification for Camber Adjustment
Correct — the camber plate bolts sit recessed into the plate, so on Volvos, accessing them after installation typically requires enlarging the strut tower holes.
That said:
• You can pre-set your camber before installing the coilovers.
• The coilovers will bolt up without modifying the strut towers as long as you’re okay with not adjusting camber once installed.
So yes — they mount up with no modification required if you pre-set camber.
3) Rear Shock Mounts
For the rear, the shocks reuse the OEM upper mounts. Scale does not include rear mounts for this application, so if your existing mounts are worn, we recommend replacing them with fresh OEM units during the install for best results.
4) Default Spring Rates / Comparison to Polestar Suspension
The standard valving and spring rates for this Volvo application are designed to be sport-oriented but daily-driveable. For the V60 Polestar, Scale’s default setup is typically marginally firmer than factory Polestar suspension, but not drastically harsher.
• Default rates: 10k front / 12k rear (common for this chassis)
• These provide a more controlled, responsive ride while still remaining comfortable for street use.
